Any vehicle with a forward-facing camera — used for lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, or adaptive cruise control — requires ADAS recalibration after a windshield swap. We use the Autel MaxiSys system for both static and dynamic calibration to manufacturer specs. Skipping this step can silently disable your vehicle’s safety systems.
Your windshield is a structural component — it supports your roof in a rollover, positions your airbags correctly, and keeps the cabin sealed. We use DuPont BETASEAL adhesive, the same bonding system used on the factory floor, for a bond that meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS 212).
After a windshield replacement, the adhesive needs time to cure before the glass can handle road stress. We follow manufacturer-recommended safe drive-away times — typically one hour minimum for standard installs, longer for high-speed or off-road conditions. We’ll tell you exactly when it’s safe to go before you leave.
Rust treatment is necessary during an autoglass replacement because rust weakens the structural bond between the vehicle frame and the glass. If your power window won’t go up or down, it’s usually a failed regulator or motor — not the glass. We replace door glass regulators and power window motors on most makes and models, to operate properly.

When you call, we look up your specific vehicle and give you a firm quote on the spot, including whether ADAS calibration is required. If you’re using insurance, your out-of-pocket may be limited to your deductible, or nothing at all in many cases. We’ll tell you exactly what it costs before we schedule anything.
Colorado law requires insurance carriers to offer a zero-deductible option for glass coverage under C.R.S. § 10-4-613 — but that doesn’t mean your current plan includes it. If you have comprehensive coverage, it likely covers replacement, though a deductible may apply. Chip repairs are often covered at no cost even without the zero-deductible endorsement. We handle insurance coordination directly — just request Peak Auto Glass as your preferred vendor and we take it from there.

Skipping recalibration is not an option. Insurance liability requires that we recalibrate all vehicles with safety features to manufacturer and insurance requirements.

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) glass is made to the same specifications as the glass your vehicle came with from the factory. Aftermarket glass meets OEM autoglass safety standards and is often a cost-effective option. For some luxury or exotic vehicles, OEM may be required.
